EXPEDITIONS – Sign up now!
What is more exciting and enlightening than a regular conference lunch or dinner? It is, of course, an “expedition”. An expedition is an activity that takes place close to the conference venue where researchers of similar interest (either social or research wise) network with each other. This year, for the first time, FSE will be hosting SE expeditions where attendees with similar interests meet, explore the beautiful Seattle, enjoy an activity, and of course network!

To see the list of available expeditions and sign up, please visit http://bit.ly/fse16-exp

Estimating attendance is extremely important since in some case expedition leaders need to make reservations in advance. So, please sign up as soon as possible, preferably by, Wednesday, November 9th, 2016.

If you have any questions about expedition, feel free to contact the Expedition Chair, Kivanc Muslu at kivancm (AT) microsoft.com.

TRANSPORTATION & DIRECTIONS – from the airport
By light rail: The easiest and least expensive way to get to downtown Seattle and the Motif is via Sound Transit Light Rail. The fare is $2.75 per person. Trains depart every 7-15 minutes and the trip will take approximately 40 minutes. The “SeaTac/Airport” station is on the 4th floor of the main parking garage (follow the signs). A covered bridge connects the terminal to the station. Elevators & escalators are available. Pay before riding: buy tickets from the ticket vending machine (TVM) before going up to the platform level. Get off at “Westlake” station, just 2 ½ blocks from Motif.

By ride-share: Uber and Lyft pickup at the airport. Follow the instructions in the apps. Most likely you’ll meet your driver on the 3rd floor of the SeaTac Airport parking garage at the Rideshare/TNC pickup zone.

By taxi: Yellow cab is the exclusive taxi service provider from SeaTac airport. The cost of a taxi from the airport to the Motif Seattle Hotel is approximately $40-$50. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
