Michael Gertz

Professor Gertz's primary research interests are in scientific data management, with a particular emphasis on geospatial, spatio-temporal, and streaming (remotely-sensed) data. Professor Gertz's research interests also include database security, in particular insider misuse and anomaly detection, security re-engineering of databases, and authentic data publication schemes. He is an affiliated faculty member of the Calspace Center of Excellence 'Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environment' at UC Davis. Professor Gertz received his diploma in Computer Science from the University of Dortmund, Germany, in 1991, and his Dr.rer.nat in Computer Science from the University of Hannover, Germany, in 1996.
