Professor Sean Peisert's research interests focus in computer security. He is particularly interested in computer forensic analysis, intrusion detection, electronic voting, the insider threat, and empirical studies of security. He also has a jointly appointment as a research scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he does computer security research with the Department of Energy community. He was a 2007-2008 I3P Fellow. He is actively involved in efforts to improve U.S. electronic voting security, to increase the use of the scientific method in academic computer security, and also to apply science to computer forensics in the courtroom.
