192/199 Procedures
This policy and procedure applies ONLY to CS/CSE majors and CS minors wishing to complete a 192 or a 199 course to satisfy a portion of the computer elective/computer science elective requirement.
To ensure that a ECS 192 or 199 course will be allowed to be used to satisfy a computer/ computer science elective requirement, the Computer Science Undergraduate Affairs Committee (CSUGA) will review the 192/199 proposal and the final documentation and recommend approval or denial. CSUGA will NOT approve previously completed 192/199 courses.
If the proposal or final report is not approved, the course will NOT satisfy a portion of the computer/computer science elective requirement, but instead the units (if the course is passed) may be used towards the 180 minimum units needed for the degree.
Computer Science Majors and Computer Science Minors
An approved ECS 192 or 199 (must be at least 3 units) will satisfy one course and a maximum of 3 units of computer science electives.
Computer Science and Engineering Majors (CSE)
An approved ECS 192 or ECS199 or EEC 194 (must be at least 3 units) will satisfy one course and a maximum of 3 units of computer electives.
