CSE Change of Major Requirements

For a change of major to CSE or to double major with CSE continuing, UC Davis students must have satisfied ALL of the conditions below. You must:

  1. be a registered student and have completed at least one quarter (minimum of 12 units) at UC Davis;
  2. have completed not more than 135 cumulative units (excluding AP units); students who have completed more than 135 units will be considered on an appeal basis only;
  3. be in good academic standing and making minimum progress;
  4. have received a letter grade for all courses that satisfy engineering degree requirements; and
  5. have completed MAT 21A, B, C; Physics 9A and Chemistry 2A; each with a grade of C- or better and a GPA of these five courses of 2.0 or better
  6. have no grade lower than a C- in any completed engineering course taken at UC Davis
  7. have a UC engineering GPA or 2.0 or better

DOUBLE MAJORS

The following double majors are not allowed:

Computer Science and Engineering and Computer Science
Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering
Computer Science and Engineering and Computer Engineering

CHANGE OF MAJOR PETITION

A petition is available at http://registrar.ucdavis.edu/PDFFiles/D043ChangeMajor.pdf. Change of major petitions submitted to the College of Engineering dean’s office within the first ten days of the quarter will likely be processed prior to Pass I registration for the next quarter.
