Impact on CS/CSE Majors
CS/CSE majors: previously completed MAT courses that have been renumbered or cancelled will satisfy MAT requirements for the major.
CS majors: the new courses in the above table can be used as substitutes for old courses without filing a petition. Also approved is allowing MAT 67 as an alternative to MAT 22A; substitution of MAT 135A or ECI 114 for MAT 131.
CSE majors:Approved, without filing a petition, is MAT 67 as an alternative to MAT 22A; substitution of MAT 135A or ECI 114 for MAT 131.
MAT Prerequisites
Continuing Students: prerequisites for the old course will be accepted for the new course.
New Students (admitted Fall 2006 and thereafter): need to satisfy the new course prerequisites as listed in the 2006-2007 General Catalog.
