In this section we overview the simulators that preceded Sim386. We begin by overviewing Simx86, the framework of classes that describes an architecture for most modern processors. We then discuss Sim8088, a simulator for the Intel 8088 processor, and Sim286, a simulator for the Intel 80286 processor.
