From San Francisco: Take Interstate 80 East. Exit at UC Davis. Turn left at stop sign onto Old Davis Road. Pass South Gate Information Kiosk (or stop for further information if desired). Continue straight ahead and follow the road. You will see a large parking structure on your right as you approach Mondavi Center. The Walter A. Buehler Alumni & Visitors Center is the building with the blue roof across the courtyard.

Parking in front of the Alumni & Visitors Center is extremely limited and restricted to 30 minutes. Please use the parking structure unless you are making a delivery or dropping off materials. Daily parking fee: $6.00

For commercial flights, Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is the nearest major airport. Oakland International Airport (OAK), about 75 miles, is the next closest airport. San Francisco International Airport (SFO), a major international travel hub and one of the busiest airports in the US, is 85 miles away. San Jose International Airport (SJO) is about 105 miles away.

Taking bus from Sacramento International Airport to Davis:


There are two bus lanes looping between SMF and Davis:

42A/42B - Intercity Loop (via Sacramento / Airport / Woodland / Davis / West Sacramento)

The best option for coming from SMF for Davis would be definitely a cab or a rental car.




Davis by Train


Amtrak has three routes that run through Davis. The Capitol Corridor travels as far east as Auburn and as far south as San Jose. This train runs 16 times/day each way between Sacramento and Oakland, Mon.-Fri. The line makes the Bay Area accessible from Davis by connecting to the BART System in Richmond and at the Oakland Coliseum. The California Zephyr also passes through Davis, going all the way to Chicago. The Coast Starlight line runs between Seattle and Los Angeles. The latter two trains operate once a day each way, and require advance reservations.


Note that there is no direct train from San Francisco Airport to Davis. First, you have to take BART between Airport and Richmond, and then the train between Richmond and Davis. They require separate tickets.
